WILLNET was born from a simple conviction: leadership is not a gift given to a select few. It can be learned, practiced, and cultivated — and every woman deserves the space to do exactly that.
WILLNET (Women in Learning & Leadership Network) was created to provide women with practical opportunities to grow their leadership skills while building meaningful connections with other women on similar journeys.
Too often, women are told to simply "be confident" or "step up," yet they are rarely given the tools, mentorship, or supportive environments needed to actually develop those leadership capabilities.
"We bridge the gap between potential and possibility — creating the environments that talented women have always deserved."
At WILLNET, leadership is not about titles. It is about influence, growth, and the courage to impact your world — whether that's your workplace, your family, your community, or beyond. We believe it can be learned, practiced, and developed in community.
This is not just a network. It is a space where women learn together, support one another, and rise together.
Building the infrastructure women deserve
WILLNET exists to empower women and girls through leadership education, mentorship, and community support that helps them grow personally, professionally, and socially. We provide the tools, connections, and environments that enable every woman to step into her full leadership potential.
To cultivate a global community of confident, capable women leaders who are equipped to influence their industries, strengthen their communities, and inspire the next generation. We envision a world where every woman has access to the growth, mentorship, and opportunity she needs to lead.
These five values aren't aspirational posters — they are the operating system behind every program, event, and decision we make at WILLNET.
WILLNET was founded by Aisha Umar, a leader deeply committed to empowering women and supporting leadership development at every stage of life.
With more than a decade of experience across nonprofit, business, and community sectors, Aisha has worked extensively in program development, leadership training, and social impact initiatives.
Throughout her career, Aisha observed a consistent pattern: talented women — brilliant, capable, ready — holding back. Not because of lack of ambition, but because the infrastructure to support their growth simply wasn't there. WILLNET was created to change that.
"Leadership is not limited to titles — it is about influence, growth, and the courage to step forward. Every woman who steps up creates permission for the next one to follow."
